    A new world

Working at nighttime has opened me up to a whole new world.. Heck, if you thought there were a ton of basement dwellers out during the day, I'd suggest that you try spending a night outside

The other part of the problem is going to sleep and waking up the same day, boy is that confusing.. The other drawback is getting your body clock in sync with its new schedule.. The first few nights I was feeling worn out between 2&3am, but once I saw the sun I was wide awake and unable to sleep

A few more months of this I'll be able to write a bestselling novel.. Better yet, I'll give the stories to Bigscoop and let him write it.. I do like his writing style.. I'm a little too biting

I can see it now, after the book will come movie deals and a spinoff for a TV series....

    Re: A new world

I've already seen a few goodies..... I think it was my 8th night out, we ran across a car crashed into a tree.. I told the driver to stop so I could run back and see if the driver was ok.. The car was still spewing radiator steam, airbag deployed and no driver

Must have been a DWI and he took off into the woods by foot.. We were on the phone with 911 as a squad car rolled up.. We explained that we just happened on the scene and didn't even see anyone fleeing.

working straight midnights is gravey. I have been working swing shift, which is a different shift every week for 18 years. I work 7 days of dayshift, 5 days of evenings the next week, and 7 midnights the next week. I work 2 weekends a month and both days are a 12 hour shifts (days and midnights). The body never really gets used to it. It is just something you learn to deal with over time. The money is good though....

I worked 12's on all the shifts, loved the 6 to 6 night shift in the summer. However, you can have those swing shifts.......!

    Re: A new world

I've worked night shift pretty much on every job I've had for the last 35 years. In my experience, that's when the real work gets done. It was always kinda cool to be in line at the local Stop and Rob with a 12 pack at 7 a.m. and see the looks on the faces of the morning people.
This world is not my home.
