large coin collection consisting of nickels, dimes, quarters and pennies worth thousands of dollars.

CORBETT, Ore. – Multnomah County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a suspect they say broke into an outbuilding at a Corbett home over Christmas and made off with tools, safes and valuable coins.

Deputies said they suspect Dan Johnson Jr. forced his way into an outbuilding and took two safes with 50 to 60 pounds of silver and jewelry inside sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

Dan Johnson Sr. (in red) goes through some of the 600 pounds of coins that detectives helped recover after a burglary at Johnson's home. Authorities say the coins were part of a theft of at least $50,000 in coins and jewelry over the Christmas holidays. Detectives believe Johnson's son, Dan Johnson Jr., planned the heist.
