Kind of like wishing wells in other countries... Just wondering are there any of them over there in the US?

Are they Protected or are the people just that

I guess they have landmark status and are protected, I don't know... maybe the Brits TNeters are more informed about these .
But I don't think if there were no special laws for their protection that anybody would actually take a chainsaw and go get a piece of them any more than people would dive into the Fontana di Trevi in Rome to get the cents out of the fountain...
