insulated boots are a must
thermal socks
keep moving
and get whatever you are doing outside DONE fast
I am southern so I don't have that problem but when I lived up North, us kids would run in, have Mom change our wet socks and boots and go back outside.
I've been using Korean war (?) era pack boots (Those big black rubber boots) for over 30 yrs now...NOT the ones that have an air valve on the sides. Ice fishing while standing on the ice for up to 5 hours.....warm feet.
Look on eBay, I got some insulated 16" camo boots for $33.01 that must've retailed for $150+, discontinued model. Rated something like -150F. Best regards, George (MN)
poorhunter78, I tried that tip you gave me the other night.. Soaked my socks in lighter fluid, put them on and lit it... Burned out rather quickly... Maybe I should use gasoline next time

I got some of those Columbia brand boots which are supposed to be good down to 20 below, but I doubt it. They are waterproof, and if your boots don't leak that helps a lot. Wearing two pairs of any type socks helps, and keep moving while you're working. When I'm camping and go to bed, I always take my boots off, as leaving them on tends to slow the circulation. And it may be a myth but wearing a stocking cap does keep my feet warmer in the bedroll.
