    Message said that "only certain people can read this". I wonder what that means? Could it be the type of reading instruction we received in school? Perhaps it comes down to phonics method (private school) versus the failed look say method (public school) of reading?

    Yeah, they say only certain people can read it, but then everyone I show it to can read it, so ...

    I see it easily and suspect most of us do. Our brain recognizes words by their appearance as much if not more than by their spelling, so all you have to do is make it look like the word, or at least enough like it for our brain to quickly determine the word it looks like.
