MILFORD —
A penny saved is a penny earned, but for one Milford man, a lot of pennies saved is a mortgage payment.
Thomas Daigle delivered a pair of boxes to the steps of Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association this April that contained more than 62,000 pennies, which he had collected for the past 35 years.
In 1977, he and his wife Sandra married and moved into their current Milford home.
After he purchased the home with a mortgage from Milford Federal, Daigle made it his mission to make the final payment in pennies.

hobby of penny collecting along with paying off that mortgage. COOL

only $3250 tho. 65,000 pennies sounds like IT SHOULD be about $250K HAHA

I'm surprised the Savings and Loan Association accepted the Pennies.
even Rolled.

I wonder if there was an ulterior motive on their part. like realizing they could get free advertising out of it.

62,000 pennies. That's only $620.00 right ?
