for me I want to go absolutely positively as long as I can function (to my standards, just like you said) I hope that is to 189 at least :)

quality of life is absolutely so important. my parents are 84 and 83 and not on one med at all. no med problems at all. they go longer thru the day then I can most times. they still drive up to the mountains to the casino at least every 4-5 weeks to gamble. Dad's house is picture perfect and he goes to the markets for me on Sat. to sell my soaps. Mom drives all over for shopping etc. I WANT TO BE THEM INTO MY 80s truly. Mom quit smoking at 77 years old :)
Her Dr. who is about 55 or so said her stats are better than hers. beat that lol

I hope all this good genes into old age like my parents have will run for me! :)

189! I see you are a dreamer too. I am 75 and My mother made it to 90 so I am looking forward to that. I don't smoke or drink so maybe I will retain my functions better. I like that old saying,"I want to live until I die." Frank

I don't care how long I live as long as I have embraced life and lived happy.

Even if given 300 years I would not have enough time to exhaust all of the avenues I wish to explore so I'd have to say forever should be sufficient. Maybe forever-plus...

But, I'll be satisfied with each moment I'm allotted.

enjoy the hunt,

Having had to fight to live, discounting others that i thank for intervening while cutting and patching. I would say when will to fight goes its over.
Then there is the question of dignity, some don,t want others to take care of them, and few will well enough that those who can maintain it want some control of their swan song. So given the choice i would live long enough to still know when i,m on my last hunt. No longer.

You're a spring chicken Frankn :) my parents are and they are in mid 80s so you are younger than a spring chicken :laughing9:

remain active. physically active. honestly I feel that is the number #1 way to go into older age super better than someone who is a couch potatoe.
Couch potatoe activity catches up with anyone. Keep that blood flowing, the veins open, the heart pumping and stay lean and mean! :)

I just want to live long enough to raise my two sons into adulthood, see them off on there own ventures, and have time to leave them a little something behind financially. If i accomplish that, any time would be fine with me.

Every morning I wake up, splash water on my face, and then take a deep breath. I know not what the day will hold for me but I do know this; for the right cause, Today is a Good Day to Die.

I think the idea of activity is right on. I use to walk my bulldog Gracie every morning for about a mile. She passed away several months ago and i felt that I would soon follow. My son got me a pit bull, Blue, and I now "walk" him every morning thru the woods for about a mile. Now I am ready for the next cache hunt. Frank

Fresh air, physical activity and a sense of adventure can take one a long ways and keep things fresh...It's when a person stops dreaming that stagnation encroaches.

enjoy the hunt,

Today is a good day to die.
If you have lived well and fully any day is a good day to die ....................... There is no need to hasten such an event by foolish acts or focusing on the dying rather than living well .
