The 70's were the beginning of the tech age, which has swallowed up jobs (especially labor) faster then Roseann Barr can eat a cheeseburger. My career was in the industrial tech sector and I watched it eat jobs for 30 years, way more then it will ever have the need to create. At the same time we saw a growth in corporate monopolies which directly attacked small business, thus drastically reducing this competition. Those who think it is going to get better any time soon, regardless who is in power, are only kidding themselves. Small business, and I do mean "small business", simply has to be set free of the strangle hold or the middle class will continue to disappear.
