And due to recent events and the enormous amount of pressure that is being applied to them, I don't think the progressive building of this wall can be prevented now.

One thing i have also been curious about in regards to all this talk of new laws and requirements is the quit interest that may also stand to profit handsomely from it. i.e., once it is known that you possess those arms, will the insurance companies try to take advantage of it? You can bet that big money interest are looking into these things and they will be involved in all of this somewhere down the road. So I don't think it's just the obvious pressures that are going to come into play. "Liability" coverage comes to mind right away.
Have to agree with "Scoop"... townhouse communities we have lived in, already have by-laws against guns; SOMEONE will benefit ($$$$$$$$$) from the "liabilities" of gun-ownership...

Hmm well, the 2nd time was definately fought for the American "way of life" concerning attacking and (trying to) occupy a country that never did you any harm, and the right to slaughter your native indians for your "expansionism"....I can't argue with that one!

Dano you must have poor schools there, you left off the part about England kidnapping American citizens on the high seas.

If you want to talk about slaughter let's talk about your viking raids on innocent villages, the rape and murder of innocent people...

Or more recently when the price of butter sky rocketed and the lower caste had to (gasp) eat margarine secure in their knowledge their leaders would not have to stoop so low. may have missed it but did not hear any tales of sharing.

    The Truth
Just about every school doesnt tell the truth about the war of 1812.The primary reason was land. The British wanted a Native American buffer zone between Canada and the U.S.The U.S. wanted to push the Native Americans from that buffer zone. The U.S. fought 5 of the 7 major land battles of the war of 1812 primarily against Native Americans.Madison used Britians refusal to respect american ships and seamen as a pretext. In return for the U.S. leaving canada alone Great Britan gave up its Native American alliances in the U.S.

Not poor schools TH, just a lack of inclination to educate someone who can get full details very easily.
Being an Englishman i'd have been on the raped and murdered side of those fights. I don't have any vikings mate!
Besides, most invading armies are guilty of rape and murder of innocents. It's apparently "just part of war". Your very own My Lai massacre being one (well documentized and published) example.

Lots of so called "evil" guns, guns that would normally not meet the requirements of the last weapons ban were imported with a thumb hole stock attached. AKM,Fal and other rifles that were normally included in the ban could be legally imported and sold with a thumb hole stock attached. Closing a loophole in the last ban.

I won't stand for it, time for Texas to leave this liberal diseased union and strike out on their own.
Or time for me to leave.

Requiring all firearms to be "locked up" defeats the purpose of some firearms. I have no children at home anymore and keep my house locked. There is a pistol in the top drawer of the night stand by my bed. Its reason for being there should be self explanatory. If someone breaks in in the middle of the night, what am I supposed to do? Being readily able to defend myself is a right.
Locking my gun up, or taking it away and forcing me to depend on the police is a violation of my right to protect myself and my family. Police are always on the scene After the crime has been committed.
Taking away my right to defend my life and property makes me something I refuse to be....A VICTIM.

Dano, people who live in glass houses should be careful on the rocks they throw, a lot of war crimes committed by English as well. Irish can speak about that as could the colonist during Am revolution, the people of India, as well Africa.

As a Native American, I take exception with your statement and find it quite offensive. You forget many things, but probably due to a lack of education in history. Otherwise you would not be so quick to ignore it.

Yes, there were wrongs done, and many continue. What you forget is that many of us also fought against Britain and her abuses of the people here. You seem to forget that Britain was abusing Native Americans long before there was a United States.

So look at the pot calling the kettle black! You really need to learn your history before you stick your British nose where it does not belong.

Sorry, it must be poor schools as you are not being taught the truth. Schools are supposed to educate, not turn students loose to decide what they need to learn.

The original invading army here was the British. They did rape and murder Native Americans as well as all other races.

Your argument is not accurate, as usual.

Were a very young country, this country was founded and built by means of violence. Always involving cold steel. We are a cushioned and protected country because we continue to create peace by means of violence. Whoever agrees we should have a gun ban, should thank they're grandparents who started making looney toons cartoons, where people kill each other over and over again. How about read the news in china about the men who kill dozens of people with a butcher knife. It's not the guns. It's the warped minds of people who have no purpose in life and don't know the Meaning of life and how fragile it is. Enough said. 3 time combat veteran, twice wounded protecting you guys. Just understand it's the people. If utake away guns were in bad shape. Enough said

I believe we are in even worse shape if we permit guns to be taken away.
