Not sure of any that are local other than on the net..I. am a big believer of instinct developed over time with the help of long term psychoanalysis ...was on the couch for 20 years and I have had some amazing experiences ..

It only breaks confidentiality if a doctor gives specifics about a patient. I tell new patients previous patients stories all the time. It helps them realize they are not alone and help is out there. I just skip individual details and gloss over the finer points. A patient can say anything they want about their experience. The confidentiality only goes one way. Patients should always feel free to discuss their doctors and what is said; otherwise would be significantly problematic.

Squiggy: You are the last of a dying breed. I fear psychoanalysis is passing into obscurity.

Rebel: Example of confidentiality. Let us pretend that Bill was a patient of mine and we were talking about his problem with hypersexuality. I would describe it as follows:

I saw a robust male in his late 50's to early 60's that was having a problem with the unwanted attention of numerous women. He did not always desire their attention, but had difficulty in refusing.

Yes, sadly most therapists and most people do not want to invest the time or money...Best investment I ever made and the most beneficial .
I am a therapist in private practice and I believe you cannot take anyone farther than you have come yourself.

I do have to admit I do get along with the younger ladies fairly well.....probably because they no longer consider me a threat.....thanks for the chuckles...I needed that.

When I visit my various cafes and pubs....I flirt with the waitresses and tell them not to worry.....I'm married to a fiery redhead who's 6' tall and trust me she's more than 1 dude can handle....lol.
