Donating any finds was the stipulation for detecting,I only had to write the request in.As i said it would of been self torture especially if I found anything worthwhile.Imagine digging a small cache of brownbess muskets up only to have to turn them in.I painted a few houses in harvard center that could give us an in:icon_thumright:

Cool, I would love to detect some of the Houses around the town common. I love Harvard and am here for the schools but knowing the general population that live in the town I know there would be an immediate uproar if someone detected. They even have a sign at the town beach saying no detecting!! What am I going to do ruin the sand?? I have a few good spots that have given up some silver etc that we could hit. Keep me in mind when the weather warms up.

I'm in the town of Harvard not the university which is Cambridge. But the town tends to be as liberal ad the school!! It's a neat little town that once had a shaker village and was the home of a transcendental experiment called Fruitlands where the alcotts lived (Louisa may Alcott wrote little woman - her dad Bronson was a leader in yhe transcendental movement). So our little town has always attracted people with "strange thoughts" of one kind or another.

Nice coincidence,One of the houses I painted was across the street from harvard common.A big white colonial that was converted in apartments.Theres a little antique shop also right across the side street from the house, the house is on a corner.A phone company building is right next door to it.The house was built in the mid 1700s.I have all the original shutter hangers for it.The owner wanted it all off so i took it home.Sometimes there is common ground in everything and everyone bill,it just has to be found.Though there are some disagreements here and there in this site, now a days people better learn to stick together. One day its going to be needed.

Just for Reference

Hi all,
Just a newbie to this thread here, recently retired and looking for a way to fill my copius spare time once i catch up to all the "honey do's". Have read almost all of what has been posted and just thought that I woud throw in a little bit of reference from my past. In 1998 or thereabout, I was stationed at Alameda Navel Air Station across from San Francisco. We were converting the base to Civilian use and I was living on the base in one of the ex-military houses. One weekend, I went to a Estate sale up near Berkely and bought a whole box of books for about $4.00 as I remember. In the box, when i got it home was a book printed by the United Nations under the auspicies of what I remember as the International Socialist League.

Out of boredom I sat down one night and started reading the book and it was a blueprint for turnig the United States Socialist. One of the things that i most remember aside from subversion of the Police, Schools, media and eventually the military was the comment that in order for this to suceed, the United States had to be brought to it's knees. the reasoning was that there was no way to raise the rest of the world up to our level, so the agenda was to bring down the U.S. to the rest of the world's level.

I wish I could find it again, but i have it packed away in one of our boxes somewhere since I can see this happening while I am watching. Take a good look around, it happening as we speak!

We won the war! The king said OK you are free from British rule. However you still have to pay me taxes! Is that freedom? We have been paying ever since.

The WHO said it best in we won't get fooled again - "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

Maybe that can be the movements motto and theme song.
