Today is "Mother's Day."

Today, I remember the past, a "Mother's Day" that I was punished.

I was just a kid, perhaps 6-7 years old.
The neighbor lady, Mrs. Beatty, grew beautiful flowers in her back yard.

My Sister encouraged me to sneak over and collect some pink and white flowers. Peonies.

We presented the bouquet to my Mom and she knew that they were "stolen."

We had to go to Mrs. Beatty and apologize.

Then, we had more chores to do.

Yard work for Mrs. Beatty.

My Mom was always one to give me "tough love."

But, still today, I remember her crying when we gave her the flowers....

I didn't understand then, but I do now....

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Scott

Scott, I'm glad you have fond memories of your mother. Not all do. But even for those not fortunate enough to have had a good mother many of them will have had at least a few happy moments.

My son just went to Lowes with me and we got my wife a new pink rose bush and another potted Lily to plant in the yard.
I'm sure she will surprised when she gets home from work. This makes I think 14 consecutive days she has worked at two separate jobs. I wish she would slow down a bit...

I DID IT!!!

Best,

Scott

And,

Remember last year? On Mother's Day?
Hard work pays off...

I have no student loan...I owe no one for my education except myself.

The price was paid with my hard work and studying.
Some semesters I had multiple Scholarships.

I achieved "Honors" status.

The best gift that I could ever give to my Mom.....

I'm sure that my Mom would be proud!

Always love you, Mom!

Scott

Jeff,

How 'bout you go pound some sand today, huh?
Hit some books and learn.

In the mean time,

Pull out your magnifying glass and burn ants at your leisure.

We all know of your mien....

Short answer to your question, is that the nectar of peonies is preferable to their desire.
If perhaps you had studied entomology and knew of nature, you would not have asked such a question....

Scott

I'm sorry.
Did I offend you?
How?

Be Well, my Friend!

Why?

no one said anything about burning ants but you

I know this routine, tomorrow when you are sober you will edit your attack and act normal
I tire of responding to you

When I was 3 ..or 4 (?) and headed out back of the house I did not catch on at first that surveillance was in effect.
After Mother hollering at me a couple times to quit peeing on her flowers , it started to occur to me to be more discreet/ not get caught.

Detected a couple years ago near that big old house. It and I worse for wear after a half century but it headed towards it second century.

Mom did not make it as long as I , but made it better ;I think...
Kept the rats from eating me in that old house. One of her / our early goals.
