Scott,

That's the trick to staying employed make yourself indispensable to the company some of my friends often wondered how I managed to survive countless reorganizations during my career. Here I was with a high school education and I survived many cuts when they were letting go of MBAs.....simple answer I was on every special project that they asked me to join.

Regards + HH

Bill

Got my replacement title for my truck today.
Now I should be able to sell it in less than a week.....

Boss at work asked if I'd be interested in working a few hours on Saturday to help with a project involving painting traffic stripes in the parking lot.
I said, "ABSOLUTELY!"

I've already got over 2 hours overtime this week since Monday.

I've also got yard chores to attend to this weekend.
Looks like I'll be busy.

Hope all enjoy the coming weekend!

Best,

Scott

Friday nights are usually an easy night. Usually...

Everyone else in the Maint. shop had already left.
About a half hour before I was scheduled to get off, I was walking to pallet jacks that were being charged looking for one that might need a load wheel replaced to finish out the night. A 10-15 minute job. I found one!

So I hopped on it and drove it to the shop. As I was pulling the load wheel axle, I noticed that the riser assembly was "loosey-goosey."

SHEESH!

OK. I'll replace the entire riser assembly. A 2 hour job.

Yep. Got some more overtime tonight! :headbang:

I'll mention it to the Boss tomorrow.
He has told me more than once that he is confident in my safety procedures and is comfortable for me to work by myself.
He also said that I can get all the overtime that I want.

I should have my 90 Day review at the end of this month.

Friends, I'm a bit tired and after I get out of the shower and my head hits the pillow, I'll be out like a light.

Best,

Scott

ADDED:
I'll try to remember to take my camera in tomorrow to take a picture of the riser assembly for clarification.

A quick story about "C-Rats"....

In Germany, the barracks heaters were steam radiators.

Sometimes we would heat up our C-Rats by placing them on the radiators. Seems like it took forever to heat up them cans of crap.

However, in the bunkers, when it was below freezing, and rats were thrown at you by a jeep driving by, Cold crap was good enough for a meal. I usually had to share my P-38.....
To this day, I can eat anything from a can cold.
Makes camping during the winter while raining or snowing much easier.....

Ah! Memories!

Best,

Scott

A thought just now...

Perhaps I'll invite John to come with me to the Golden Corral for a Veterans meal this coming Veterans Day.
I have went to the Golden Corral alone for the last 5 years for Veterans day.
This year, it might be Special.

I'll work on this idea....

Oh, And the Fellow that I served with whom I contacted that is the Chief of Police about Veterans Court?
He replied that he was going to attend a graduation of a Vet!

Seems like those I served with are as dedicated to America and our Brothers and Sisters as I hoped!

Good Night, my Friends!

And, I earlier contacted a Professor at the College asking for information towards my Bachelor's Degree.

Yeah, Scotty has dreams and is busy to see them come true!

"HA! The fool won't live long enough to see his dreams come true!"

"But, He will outlive you and accomplish more than you, 'Cause he's out there makin' a difference.
Every day. So, who's the fool, you Fool?"

"Here I Go Again"

I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday

And I've made up my mind,
I ain't wasting no more time

Here I go again
Here I go again

Though I keep searching for an answer,
I never seem to find what I'm looking for
Oh, Lord, I pray
You give me strength to carry on,

'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known,
Like a hobo I was born to walk alone

But I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time

Just another heart in need of rescue,
Waiting on love's sweet charity
I am gonna hold on
For the rest of my days,

'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known,
Like a hobo I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time

But here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go...

And I've made up my mind,
I ain't wasting no more time

Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known,
Like a hobo I was born to walk alone
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known,
Like a hobo I was born to walk alone
I have made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time.

But here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go,
Here I go again.

Scott, when I could not work, I went to a community collage under the GI bill. It paid more then the VA's Disability Education Befits. When I had to move on to higher education, I switched to the VA Rehab, They paid the higher cost of enrollment, books, paper, etc... When I graduated I had a good but not great job, but they sent me to more schools, and then out to instruct others. I really liked the traveling, buy my wife did not, she won. Only after thirty years do I wonder it I should have let her go. As far as I know, she was the only one of my four wives who remembered who she was married to.

Didn't get a chance for overtime yesterday because of inclement weather.
Perhaps next weekend.

Let's see how much overtime I can get this week.
I'm ready!

Joke of the day - At the zoo I noticed a slice of toast in one of the enclosures.

I asked the keeper, 'How did that toast get into the cage?'

'It was bread in captivity' she replied.

OV,
Beauty of a guitar are you going to buy it?? or just ogle....lol.

Well at 2600 bucks.... If I had disposable cash.. yes!
It sure is purty....

That's one of the reasons I became a luthier, I can refret, fix, repair, add better hardware/electronics to guitars I can afford, and try to make them comparable to beauties like thee above.
