Just got back from the lake after a couple hours of kayaking. I am hoping to get some detecting in over the next three days as well as build a kitchen cabinet and maybe replace a french door with a vinyl slider. I hope everyone is having a great Independence Day!!! We are very lucky to live in the greatest country in the world!

Good luck with being accepted Scott. I hope they can find that extra chair for you.
My thanks, Friend, for your best wishes....

I would even bring my own chair to attend this course.

I feel that having reached my age, I have many ideas of Philosophy
that I could fall back upon to help me succeed in the course.

And perhaps many new ideas to consider....

With my prior knowledge of courses already attended, such as Sociology and half a dozen
or more classes in Psychology, I feel that I could excel in a Philosophy course. Even an HONORS course.

If accepted, I would be halfway towards graduating with Honors.

If there is no positive response towards my inquiry,
I will continue on, and peruse more intense studies in the Psychology field.
Perhaps for the Spring Semester I'd be able to continue with Honors courses....

I have to register for Fall Classes on July 15, and I'm only 3 classes away
from an Associates Degree, seeking a Bachelors.

Always seeking a higher level of learning...

Best Wishes,

Scott

Today, is dedicated to my Friend, Ronnie Gleason,
A Vietnam Veteran who I was privileged to know as a Friend.

The song in the link was his choice to play at his funeral....

A man of many songs, and his song will live on in my memory...

Scott,

Good luck with getting into the fall course that's full....hopefully they'll reconsider or possibly someone will cancel out before the sessions start.

As for music you can post up American the Beautiful by Elvis another pretty good version to help celebrate July 4th.

Regards + HH

I thought the same thing in my fourth year at UVA. Luckily I took the class pass/fail. I would ace the exams and fail the papers. What? I never got below a B on a paper. I was writing in the style for psychology and it did not translate for philosophy. The professor called me in because he didn't understand how I could get the top score on the written test and the bottom score on the papers. Tread lightly my friend. I was unable to produce what they were looking for.

True story....

In an Honors History class, the 60's was being discussed.

Scott, sitting in the back, slowly raised his hand.

When the instructor called upon Scott for comment, this is what he said...

"Ya know,
I don't give a damn about history books and what may be taught in a Liberal society,
but, I was there, in the 60's, and here's the truth...."

Sadly, My speaking up was not appreciated with the instructor's curriculum,
and I ended up receiving one of the worst grades of my College career....
What a (censored)...
ummm, I mean, my mistake....

Best,

Scott
