True story....

In an Honors History class, the 60's was being discussed.

Scott, sitting in the back, slowly raised his hand.

When the instructor called upon Scott for comment, this is what he said...

"Ya know,
I don't give a damn about history books and what may be taught in a Liberal society,
but, I was there, in the 60's, and here's the truth...."

Sadly, My speaking up was not appreciated with the instructor's curriculum,
and I ended up receiving one of the worst grades of my College career....
What a d ickhead...

I have to agree with Crispin on this point....the professors have the big stick not you....state your case but if they expect you to back down do so.....

I used to mentor the young turks at the tail end of my career and used the same logic....the higher ups are not always right but they have the cards stacked in their favor.....I've been trying to get this point across to Crispin with varying success......he does actually listen to me on occasion surprisingly......pick your battles wisely....lol...

Can't believe that I arrived this late, and find another fine selection of music. Looks like everyone had a fine day, and enjoyed life. My good friends from Maine just left after my Fish Fry, and let me say that frying outside tonight in 90 Degree temps, and 80 + % humitity reminds me of being in Fla, not Vermont! It was a great day, and any day you spend with good friends is worth getting up for. Now if the Lake would stop rising, and my shoreline would reappear, we could get back to enjoying summer. The Lake is only about 4 inches from flood stage, and the water is still flowing in out of the Mountains. Roads have been flooded and washed out, and the weather is just a general inconvience. Wish I could figure out how to get our excess water out to the Southwest, were it is definitely needed to put out the widespread fires.

On a much lighter note, hope you all enjoyed our Nations birthday, and have more time off to spend with friends and family. poring myself one more Capt. and ginger ale, and heading out to the porch to see the fireworks on the lake. Gary
