truck issues are not fun...I just did my front brake thingies...60.00 per side for the thingies, 30.oo for the other press/rub? on the first thingies...

250.00 for both rear disk brake rotors an pads isn't too bad a price...if it is a quality shop...
wonder if the emergency brake cable didn't stick..then 250 is highway robbery.

I learned at an early age how to do mechanical work on my vehicles.
No one has ever turned a wrench on any of my vehicles except me.
Once or twice, I got lazy and took a vehicle in to get the oil changed. And they screwed that up...

On brakes, the pads are changed and you feel for grooves on the rotors. If none, move on to step 2.
If minor grooves are felt, the rotors will need to be "turned."
That means putting them on a lathe and having the grooves smoothed out by taking good metal off to the depth of the grooves.
The NHTSB has guidelines on just how thin the rotors can be turned.
If the grooves are too deep, you need new/used rotors.
Working on disc brakes are a snap.
Drum brakes, not so much....

I guess what I'm trying to say is I have no idea what that would cost, because I do it myself and the only cost is parts.

When it rains, it pours.

I dropped my phone and it showed me a psychedelic screen. Great.

There goes $60 for a new phone.

Gotta catch a break sooner or later....

Best,

Scott

OK, just where is everybody!? :laughing7:
I just can't carry this thread alone, even though there is 9 of us! :cat:

I gotta put on my clearance rack dress, my cheap expensive imitation perfume, my choos I juried the Chinese man down on in the Middle Eastern market down under, get blinged up, so at least I feel rich, when I go shed about $50 bucks out, for 2 small bags of sustenance.
It gets expensive just to pull outta the driveway! :BangHead:

Watch out world, and pedestrians, here I come! :laughing7:
I've no clue, why this fella keeps coming to my mind...... :laughing7:

I had to read that a couple of times.....???

Best,

Scott

I is glad Jeffers is checked in, too! Whew! When them big winds blow jeffs, DUCK!

Oh, thanks for heads up on mechanicking, we got a good one, two..... he'll usually high-ball, but then he ain't cheap either. I don't seem to have damaged to rotor drum thingys, I still gotta get it driven to him. I'm sure the checkbook can fix it all. :BangHead:
Oh well, guess someone figured I needed to spread it around, so....... :laughing7:

Scott, I am sorry for your loss!
Families are so complicated. ..every relationship has the potential to harm!
I lost my mother when I was 30 and my grandmother as well!
Unfortunately family seems to come with all its warts..hope you work it all out, when they are gone, they are gone.

Hey BBacon. ..the other day I saw a VERY elderly man in the parking lot. This poor guy could hardly walk..I watched him struggle, wondering if I should help, but not wanting to insult him. After maybe 10 minutes, I watched him FINALLY reach his car and drive off....YIKES!!!

Barb,

Don't go getting paranoid on us....you're supposed to be coaching us on that not the other way around....lol...

Just a wild guess but INXS are based out of Australia so if that's where the video was loaded from that could be the issue.

tornado warnings are not as bad as you think. unlike a hurricane, a tornado ( while very destructive) only hits a very small area. The damaged area is worse than a hurricane but it covers a small area. Although living in paradise california, you know of neither.

jeff,

Yeah but they get massive forest fires and the San Andreas fault that might swallow up a good chunk of the State at some time or another......heck I guess I'll put up with the snow it could be worse.

Years ago, way from the other side of a parking lot, I watched a little old lady get in her car, turn her wheel sharply, and hit the car beside her.
She pulled forward, cut the wheel, hit it again.
Pulled forward, cut the wheel, hit it again.
And again. LOL!

It took 4 or 5 hits, then it finally clicked, back out some........... then turn the wheel. :BangHead:
And she just drove on........ yeah, Lord help us all! LOL! :laughing7:
