Just finished my yard work obligations;
Pulled ivy vines climbing the trees,
blowed debris from the roof and gutters,
trimmed 5-6 bushes, mowed, and sprayed weed killer.

Felt good to be outside, soaking up that sunlight thick vitamin D,
Instead of in front of my computer screen trying to figure out the finer nuances of Power Point.

By the way, my Geology Proposal for my Presentation was accepted by the Professor,
with some additional suggestions.....

The Lab Exam?
Well...
Let's just say that I passed and we'll leave it there.

Tuesday is the Math Exam and I have to memorize at least 3 formulas....:BangHead:
Here's one:

------------------------------------

I noticed, while mowing the back yard,
that the stump I've been trying to make disappear, probably needs just one more,
good, steady little fire to take it on down to ground level.
I'm tired of mowing around it.

I might take a break from studying and put a match to it tonight.
I picked up several twigs and branches that must be disposed of...
And.....
Voile!

Since I can't go camping,
I'll probably wait until dark,
become transfixed by the dancing flames
and imagine that I'm in my mountains......

I will have time to think about the slides of my Power Point, like how many to have,
what info to show to correspond to my narrative, slide transitions, sounds/music,
fonts, maps, charts, graphs, gif's, etc. ad nauseum.

Then tomorrow,
I'll begin in earnest;
I have, up to now, only been trying to reclaim lost "Know-How."
I think I got this.....

Hope All are Well,
And have a great weekend!

Best Wishes,

Scott

PS.

Let me drop this on y'all...

A couple of tunes that strike my fancy right about now.

Hope they are your favorites, too!

What?

A couple more tunes?

Well,
Folks....

I post tunes that usually have poignancy;
Either to the current subjects being discussed or,
more readily,
those that reflect my personal psyche and/or state of mind.
Sometimes, VERY personal....
I've bared my soul, many times, sometimes through my "Stories," revealing my past, my fears, my goals,
and have also professed my affections for my Friends here.....
Reciprocation? :dontknow:

Maybe you have noticed that most of the songs that I post are upbeat and lively.
I am usually of an "up-beat" state of mind.

It's been a "roller-coaster" journey though.....

I'm too damned old now to worry about some things,
and,
Other things,
Well,

I sometimes have to look hard to stay upbeat.

I hope that my musical selections have offended no one and,
might have possibly brought a reminiscent smile to your face....

I know that my love of music, as different as you might find from other's postings,
has helped me through some hard times.

Whether it be country/western, classical, metal,
rock or any genre or format,
there is always that one song,

That says just how you are feeling,
And,
can bring about relief,
new ideas or just be a friend "to remind you of the good times".....

No, I'm not feeling Chumbawumpa tonight....
I'm feeling good, though.....

"The world is my oyster and I shall soon have the Pearl."

Tonight, my Friends,

We're the Champions!

And

Always,

My Best Wishes,

Scott

PS.

Did someone mention,
"Roller coaster?"

PSS.

I sincerely hope that none of my posts have caused distress nor offended any.
If so, I apologize.
I NEVER intend to offend.

I am led to believe that some wish me to not post here anymore....

"He's too 'radical' in his posts"
"Oh no, not Scott again."

Well,
I understand those feelings,
and,
Have considered resigning my post as "Wolf Pack" ambassador,
and bidding adieu to my Friends,
I've thought long and hard......

But,
I've decided,

"The wishes of one cannot silence many."

Yeah, I'm talking about your "Political Correctness."

Such a bane on Democracy.

Shame on Folks for buying into this ideology....

"I may not post what you want to hear, but it is the Truth."

Oopps...
Here we go again with politics....

But,
Let me ask you;

Was the United States better before the current regime?

All following comments on this topic and more will be discussed and debated here:

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/au24k/360824-random-thoughts.html

Seems this type of discussion always leads to name-calling and division.

Call me whatever name you choose,
But,
ALWAYS call me a Patriot and Defender of America!

I will NOT give up my responsibilities as liaison to "The Wolf Pack."

So,
Haters,
I'm still here,
America, and I will Triumph!

Your Friend,

Scott

Scotty, do not leave us.

The merits of a good small fire cannot be overvalued. ( good for stump burning as well as the soul)

Jeff, my Friend,

The only ones allowed to call me "Scotty" were my Grandmother, an Aunt, my locksmith Friend and you.
I accept your Friendship of the name.
As well as all of my Friends here.

My Landlord just knocked on my door, impressed with my yard work efforts and offered me a beer from his 6-pack....
He knows that I don't drink (I use a funnel) A JOKE! SHEESH!
and he wanted to know my impression.

I told him that it has a taste of Clove, orange peel and something else,
maybe coriander?

Silly Belgians.....

An unusual diversion for sure...

Ain't it about time to burn a stump?

My Best,

Scott

PS. How 'bout Chase Elliot!

I got some towels from the Elliot household....
It's legit....

PS.
Thanks for the path to remembering my Pap....
From an early age, I learned auto mechanics....

He and I thank you....

Reminds me of yet another story,
Something about his '57 Chevy pick up, fishing and a tornado in Kansas....

But y'all don't wanna hear 'bout such crap, right?

Takes about a whole tree to burn "some" stumps. I average one a year and some of years past tend to peek a little bit in spring. But watching primitive t.v. warms more than the flesh.
For Scott. Twas summer.(start the first vid then play the others in turn mtn. man).

Yes it was.

Scott, keep in mind your not the only one here who shares conservative views...
I think all is welcome here. Not everyone shares my views but I don't feel like an outsider.

Scott, Diesel etal,

This thread is a bit of a shelter from the storm so to speak....we all try to leave our egos at the door and share our trials, tribulations, humor, music, whatever....when all is said and done most people have more in common that the few differences we may have.

I agree 100% Bill. It's nice to have such a place to hang out. I would much rather get along with people than waste my life away bickering and fighting. Life is just to short for that...

Too bad,

Here's the story.....

Back when I was a kid, maybe 12-13,

I had a jar full of grasshoppers and so my Pap and I went fishing.
I think it was in early June or July....

The wind was from the South, "Blowing the bait into the fishes mouth,"

We left to go to our favorite catfish hole, on the Wakarusa river, just west of Lawrence, Kansas,
BEFORE Clinton Lake was developed by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Anyway,

We drove to the location, and then a half mile from the main road (gravel) onto a "farmers road" used to access their crops.
We had permission....
and parked.
And went a fishin'.

The wind had picked up, but my Pap said it was all good,
So, we went down to the river bank.

Just about dusk, the bites were coming fast and furious!

So was the wind and dark clouds....

After seeing lightning during this time,
I gave my whistle of location and found that my Pap was only about 100 yards from my location.

After several whistles of communication,
it was determined that fishing was over for the day and we had better get home.

Well, where we were parked was on a dirt road and any rain would make our leaving hard to accomplish.

I whistled that "Let's git,"
And my Pap replied through whistle, "I'll meet you at the truck."

I reeled in my lines, collected my caught catfish and climbed the bank to the corn field.
East is west, and the storm approaches quickly....

I sloughed through the cornfield, towards the truck,
with only my own sense of direction...and,
Soon, at the truck, I see my Pap running towards the truck.

He is hurt, from falling and hurting himself and I run to help him to the truck.

I jump into the driver's seat and said, "Give me the key!"

I start the truck, a standard transmission, and we haul a$$ from the dirt trail.

As I'm driving (without license) towards home, branches fall in front of me.
I pull to the side of the road and the worst that Mother Nature has, passed over us.

I then proceed towards home,
where I find my Sister cowering in the basement and my Mom ready to kick both of our asses....
Seems that a tornado passed where we were fishing and went just south of Lawrence....

Ah, such times that make memories...
And stories...

What stories do you have?

Best,

Scott
