A Brink's armored truck lost some of its valuable cargo Thursday after a rear door opened, allowing coins to spill across Colorado 66 just south of Mead.
Weld County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of the armored truck parked in a lane of traffic on the highway near Weld County Road 7.
They found the truck with its rear door ajar and Brink's personnel attempting to slow traffic so that the spilled coins could be recovered, according to the sheriff's department.
