My friends,

No Guinness tonight as it is Thursday; however, Friday will be a different story. I have a splitting headache that starts at the front of my left eye, circles behind my ear, and goes down the side of my left neck. My wife cooked something with Sulfites on accident and this is what happens to me when I consume too many sulfites. Thus, I have moved to a quiet room, cued up some of Bill's music, and started the meditation process to let it go away. Distraction also helps.

Anybody seen Rebel? Does he know?

I once played a computer game called Might or Magic. It placed the quintessential forces of muscle vs. magic against each other and let the player choose which to conquer the undead. That was a long time ago.

I've been spinning some new theories around in my head. I've had the benefit of a vacation to refresh my batteries and the subsequent banning (behind me now Bill, don't worry) to test some of my new thoughts. This theory involves social media and my limited experiences with it. Is it better to have a social network that runs from bottom to top with the members controlling the content or is it better to have a social media from top to bottom where there is a supreme being that others must answer to?

Let me quickly add that this has nothing to do with TNET or its moderators. As all social medias must have moderator, rules, and regulations whether they are top down or bottom to tops. I am simply referring to the content of the media and whether it is produced from the bottom up or the up down.

The difference may seem slight at first; but upon further inspection can have profoundly various results. Some of you may have noticed that I am making a not so subtle analogy to government. Dictatorship vs. democracy. Ha! Who missed it? Be honest.

However, this is not about politics, it is just a simple analogy to social media. Just as Orson Wells merely wrote a book about pigs running a farm. I digress, back to subject. In an ideal social media network the content would be created by the members and then regulated from the top. This is the conclusion that I have reached in the last couple of days. In a non-ideal social media network the top would control what people talked about and when. The participants in the latter example would be nothing more than pawns to allow their voices to further the goals of the ones asking the questions.

I am proud to be a part of this network that allows me to ask my own questions and allows you, my friends, to give your own answers freely. Yes, it is a privately funded site. Yes, we are limited to what we discuss. However, for the most part we are allowed to discuss within reason, without fear of reprimand, without fear of being banned without an explanation.

Freedom, we all desire it. In a functioning society nobody is every 100% free. We must have rules and regulations. All desire the minimum restrictions on themselves; and, all desire the maximum regulations on others effecting their freedoms. Truly, a conundrum, without an answer across 5000-6000years of history.

I ramble. I apologize. My Headache still persists, so I will seek out other threads to exercise the rights afforded to me by TNET. Allow me to finish this humble post with a few simple statements. 1. Thank you TNET for your understanding. 2. Thank you to all my friends for allowing me to learn through you. 3. Thank you to TH for his wisdom. 4. HCB..."they are coming for you, there is no way out, they are coming." - Gandalf, The Fellowship of the Ring.

Crispin,

My 2 cents for what it's worth based on my CMD experience about 2 years of admin......I agreed to take on the job with one proviso.....me and my other admin confreres are basically caretakers of the site for the members nothing more and nothing less....

If we make a major decision it's unanimous or at least majority rules.....so pretty much a democratic process....2 years or so and only 4 members got turfed and that after warnings, etc....

The downside it involves a fair amount of behind the scenes efforts via pms, etc..to calm things down at times....

Given the sheer volume of members here it's probably not practical to take that approach....JMHO.

I can't believe being a moderator is an easy job.. Especially when it comes to determining what is accepatable and what is not.. I mean alot of things can be taken out of context and epsicially when two people who are friends or even know each other get into a heated conversation.. I'm glad we can choose our own topics and start threads on our own to dicuss what we choose.. But one thing is for sure I do not envy the person or persons who are responsible for making sure we all play nice..

Crispin,we are allowed to discuss what we want on the net.But it is the ones on the forums that get you in trouble by reporting, report, report. If there is no report signal the mods could care less what we talk about.Get it.We are our own demise.Live and let live.If we were all like you this would be a sucky planet.Or all like me it would be one big insane asylum, right Crispin? We are the controllers;not them. You have to get approval from the majority to be accepted anywhere on Earth.I do not want to be like the majority.I like being different you see.It is being different that may change something, not the same.I take the high road,i go against the grain.Whatever is accepted, i reject it.What is normal,i do not accept it.What is normal? What is right?what is wrong? This is what America is truly about.I am a rebel.I choose what i want or do,or say.If the majority does not agree, then i feel better, because i am moving further from the normal, accepted behavior. That makes me happy. So if 90% of America believed in God.And i stand up and said God sucks!Should i be jailed or punished? Most likely in Americas early days i would be.But it took many years to break this foolish type behavior of the masses. The masses are a huge gang that is looking to pick a fight with someone that does not want to be part of the mass occult. That is exactly what a majority mass group is,a cult.So the mass southern Baptist cult is big, powerful, sets rules, because they are the righteous ones. The followers of Jesus, which makes them right, clean, can do no wrong mass occult. Members that say If you buy washing powder on Sunday you have sinned. This is still enforced in many southern states, called the blue laws. This is what i have had to grow up against.Think how i get along here down south.I am totally rejected, black listed, not accepted by the majority of the church occult. And yes,any organisation that says follow me,be it a church, religion or whatever is considered a cult. But i can not say this!Go ahead hit the report button, make yourself feel important, but you will regret it when you find out how the church paster has been raping little boys for many years. The End.

Is God dead?God may have been and is right here on Earth the whole time, but the masses are so caught up on being like everyone else, that they looked right past God to be a follower, and missed an entire life time of meeting God face to face.

Dude, if you are going to post up a song with the lyrics "God is dead" it should definitely be from Nine Inch Nails, "Your God is dead, and no one cares. If there is a hell, I'll see you there." Trent Resnor. I'm sure you have heard it.

No bro, we are cool. That post was not directed at you. The grandiosity and delusions of reference are kicking in. Can you recommend a good doctor for me? It never hurts to get checked out when friends and loved ones are concerned.

Maybe i spend to much time with dogs but Eva would be a better indicator to me than your posts if you had a issue requiring a doctor(s).
Soaking in ocean water weekly my rx for you for now. Hugging family frequently in between doses.

The song that you are referring to is from the Nine Inch Nails album "The Downward Spiral" and the songs title is "Heresy" I saw them live when they headlined on of the Lollapalooza tours that I attended in Barrie, Ontario. Just remember that Galileo was at first label a heretic for what he said....
