I know just what you mean, when I was in my mid 20s I was at a party when someone slapped his girlfriend for something she said in front of me, I decked him, he asked "why did you hit me?", I said "I wanted you to feel what it felt like when you hit her". He got up but didn't want to fight when he saw I was ready to carry it as far as needed and he left the party,......... with out his girlfriend......
I had several friends there with me ready to back me up if needed and we told her we will see she gets home safely...
Don't ever insult my wife or hit a woman/girl in front of me, it is the quickest way to get me real angry....
