[FONT=&quot]An inquisitive crab climbs aboard the recovery container holding gold coins from the SS [/FONT]Republic shipwreck site 1,700 feet deep. The coins carpeting the seabed were recovered during the archaeological excavation of the site which began in November of 2003. The operation, conducted entirely by advanced robotics, was the first of its kind performed at such depths.

Odyssey Marine Exploration’s ROV inspection of the SS Gairsoppa shipwreck site revealed the remains of a wc with an intact toilet. The shipwreck was discovered approximately 4,700 meters deep in the north Atlantic approximately 300 miles off the coast of Ireland.
