OAK RIDGE, N.J. (AP) – A New Jersey black bear that walks upright on its two hind legs has re-emerged and has been captured on video months after its last sighting.

apparently it an injured leg or paw that doesn't allow it to walk comfortably on all fours, according to experts. Prior to the latest video, there had been no reported recent sightings and officials asked the public for help in locating the bear.

Awwww. I travel through Oak Ridge on my way home from work every day. There are a lot of black bears in that part of the state, but I've never seen this one. I hope it can maybe be captured and given vet care, rather than being killed. The poor thing must have limited access to his usual diet with his reduced mobility - and probably back and hip pain as well.
