Has anyone tried those cleaning pencils yet, and if so are they worth purchasing? being locked in a bad winter I would like to start cleaning some of the thousand or so pennies I have, also as I have a ton of US pennies are there any special dates to look for....Thanks....Bonz

And do not clean any non dug cents. You can ruin their value. Most are best left alone. If you get a rare one, take it to a coin dealer for a look-see or go to one of the grading services and let them deal with it. I just sent in a very early US half cent to the grader because there is a chance it is worth a bunch, probably not, but I was not going to take a chance ruining it.
