Simon,

If you're an animal lover it's hard to comprehend that type of treatment of animals. We're up to our 7th cat now and 6 of them were abandoned strays. People just move away and leave them behind heartless to say the least.

About 1 week ago on one of my walks I was snooping around an abandoned restaurant which is borded up and since some of the plywood has been torn off appears there's a few stray cats using the building for shelter. I've left food and water for them every day now and replenish it on my morning walks.

Odds are these were housecats at one time that were left to fend for themselves.

A few days ago a man was arrested for animal neglect for cats. This morning they announced that they are STILL finding cats in his house. To date the count is around 194 deceased and 160+ still alive or barely alive. So many are just tiny kittens. A law was suppose to pass in our state to increase the penalty for animal abuse, but at the last minute it got shoveled under the rug. Simple misdemeanor charges are all that can be applied ! We were bombarded with rain all the rivers were flooded, Mississippi, Missouri, among just a few. Anyway, a few months ago during a flood a conservation officer was patrolling an area being flooded and found two cute puppies in a cage left in a field that was being flooded. He rescued them and they survived, but what kind of person does something like that ? That is so wrong. No conscience ! View attachment 1721036

Sis, I also use Catawba worms. I’ve got two trees and the worms are in season. Just made
These pics. View attachment 1721056 View attachment 1721057 Bream and catfish love um.

Catalpa worms? We spell it funny here in the great white north. The catalpa is a beautiful tree. When they flower they are prettiest tree around, then they dump their leaves and beans. Good tree for the neighbor's down the road to have but I would not want to have to clean up after one.

I just mulch what leaves fall that they don't eat. My trees will leaf back out after the worms get through and at times I will have worms again.pretty sure my spelling is correct.Down here anyway.

You are both correct.
