Saw yesterday in a video how people in FLA prepare their windows for storms. Everyone used nails or srcews and they damaged their wood window frames like crazy. Some frames looked like termites had their fun.

Why don´t they drill holes, put in a negative of a screw (sorry, don´t know the english name) and fix them permanently with Epoxy? If they make one time a template for the frames AND protecting wood pieces, it is an easy going and wood protecting pieces can also replaced easy with exactly same screw holes. That would protect the frames and makes it faster to protect when a storm comes in. There are also screw negatives to find with a funnel where screws find their way easy.

Some examples. Also available ribbed on the outside to glue them in an give more hold on the construction

My preferred.

JUP! Works too and it´s easy to set up. :icon_thumright: But you got holes in the frame that goes from outside to inside right?

Anyway, that gives much more strength to the entire construction as to glue something in! but you got holes for Bugs and other animals to come into the house :laughing7:

And you live in a warm area! Which some hundred holes in the windows we would freeze our butts off :laughing7:

To build something like this for an entire house would be THE solution! :laughing7:

Just think about how many people spent hundreds of thousands for later installed or build underground bunkers etc.!

When you come out of the bunker, your house is may gone and you got nothing. With this idea it is like nothing happens :icon_thumleft::icon_thumright: :laughing7:

That´s great! But are they also protected against water if a Meteorite hit the Atlantic and US gets flooded?

Unfortunately not affordable for everyone.... I just spent my last 2.5 Million $ for Vintage Star Wars stuff :laughing7:

We use to go to Pensacola and Gulf Breeze every year and I remember them building this "Hurricane" proof home.

I remember we were there right after a hurricane and you could NOT find any roads because they had all been covered in several inches to several feet of sand. Good thing I had a rental car.

Looks NICE! Smartest idea if you live in such an area and it looks so great :icon_thumright:

And when too much wind gets a grip under the second house, you be the first one in an real flying UFO :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Doesn't hurt to be 'prepared'... for anything. You'll find me here, 4,000 ft up and 20 ft down .Solid 3-4 foot stone thick walls/ceiling.About the only threat, a F-15 with a bunker buster :) 040.JPG :tongue3: 034.JPG
Isolated/secluded nothing around for miles, but woods.Single lane 4 mile driveway with hairpin turns with Hugh trees. A few minutes & a chain saw and its sealed off :) 054.JPG
