Yeah I almost used the Indiana Jones analogy.

Quick story...

When I was in my 20's I was with a buddy driving down the interstate when we both had to piss really bad...

Problem was we were in BFE Florida middle of nothing... we see an exit and get off and go down this dirt road...

We wanna be quick so we just jump out at first chance by cow field / pasture...

The trees were hanging down so I ducked under and went up by fence to sorta take some cover...

I leaned back up after ducking under branches...

In my face is this HUGE GNARLY spider with a massive web...

I friggin freeze and start to back up and notice...

ALL the branches and weeds and everything was covered in webs...

Just then HE sees them and freaks out and starts going right through the webs and is yelling and jumping his way out...

I am like methodically trying to get out...

Chills and crap all up and down my spine...

I start really focusing around me.... EVERYWHERE ! ! !

FRIGGING DAY OF THE SPIDERS ! I mean there must have been thousands and thousands...

ALL the way over power lines ... everywhere... it was the weirdest eerie thing ever.

Now... one thing I hate more than snakes is spiders.

I was bitten by a copperhead when I was 12, had on brand new jeans when jeans were well made and heavy, so I only got scratched - so I fully respect snakes.

Now, as far as spiders - Granny always warned me when I went out to watch out for the spiders. Her mother, my great grandmother had been bitten by a spider on the back of her hand, and her hand was crippled after that.

So I have an extreme fear of spiders now, but not of snakes. I will admit though that I have two spider webs on my right side right now and I allow them to live. They keep the other bugs in this old house in control.

Hmmm deepseek... I really recommend taking a shower BEFORE even the first web appears on EITHER of your sides.

the Snake thing also reminded me of Dell Lake Amusement park.
a Defunct amusement park about 4 mille from me.

Everyone who's ever been there insist it's either over run by Black Snakes or Copperheads,
Depending on their Age.

The older people who remember the park insist Copperheads

The more Recent said Black snakes everywhere.

I've been there about a half
a dozen times. always by myself. Never seen a snake,
in the open High weeds or the wooded areas .
never stepped on one in the weeds, unless I stepped on their Heads every time.
Never scared them with my coil. I'm either mostly Blind of snakes,
Or everyone bot I , Have a big imagination.

Only ever had one day in my life where I saw 2 snakes the same day (Both black)
But not there.

Not me...

I have run across so many snakes in my life.

Massive snakes as well.

Once a rattlesnake that was easily 8 foot... that was biggest diamond.

Once a python that was I don't know how big for I only saw part of it... the rest was under submerged plywood... but section I saw was almost as big as a volleyball in circumference.

I let most of The spiders alone here .
They seem to like building nests in my Tub.
That's the only place they don't last, But continue to Try & Build.
And if I Need to go in my Basement which is unfinished.
I Use my broom to clear a path to walk down the steps.
Or i'd have a face full of Webs.

Occasionally while sitting here at the Computer there is a tiny one
that comes down on a web directly between me & the Computer Screen :tongue3:
it's weird , Not sure where it comes from , But almost sure it's the same one.
usually comes down on my Desk & Disappears under all the Crap.
If I move it flies straight back up.

Don't have flies here since I let the Spiders have room & Board to live.

My Chevy Explorer was a Different Thing.
It sat for years before I bought it.
Must have been a Nest of Fat Ugly Spiders.
The type that Could be Widows or Recluse.
I'd kill them when possible.
I hate Fat juicy looking spiders.

I'm okay with tiny ones & Long Leggers

Nope. Not unless he was a racer in Disguise as a Blackie.

I was on a Bike on a old railroad Bed.
rode past the first one in the middle of the trail.
good distance later stopped to inspect an area to the side that looked
Interesting and ended up standing just inches from the 2nd one.
Which I almost did step on.

I think it was a Brown Recluse that bit my Great Grandmother. Got a whole lot of them around here - and them I'm really afeared of!
