Jeff, reminded me of when the Cuyahoga River in Ohio caught on fire in 1969.

That wouldn't have been a good time to be boating or waterskiing there!

We had an old pier that was really a mess. It was just well used and our harbor needed a new one. Well the harbor commission applied to the state of California to burn it down. The request was denied. A little while later it caught fire and burned down. That would have been that but the fire marshal was observed watching it burn close by and it was hushed up. Big scandle!
