Especially Back then, I would think they have all heard a Story of someone
being Buried alive. From what I read there were allot of errors back then.
SO any hint of Noise should have been Investigated.

Some people even Had Strings Tied to their Finger & A bell connected
before the Ground was filled back in the graves :laughing7:

000hhh.jpg The Improved Burial Case.
Patent No. 81,437 Franz Vester, Newark, New Jersey.
August 25, 1868.

also "Wakes" :a watch or vigil held beside the body of someone who has died, sometimes accompanied by ritual observances including eating and drinking.

Thats a buzz. Here in Indiana some of the old cemeteries have head stones which are made of metal. I am not sure what type of metal but it does not rust, maybe they are bronze or some copper like composite.

I have seen these from the mid 1880s through early teens

The term wake comes from People watching a dead body after death for a certain period of time to see if it wakes up. True. Today we have a wake and everyone just sits around with an imbombed body. Kind of silly today but it did at one time serve a purpose. My favorite Author Edgar Allen Poe has written many stories of people accidentally buried alive. Creepy SH!T

Sounds like a Fisk iron coffin. This one has the glass out. Popular in mid 1800's.
