Three Tankers Victory Day. By
Angelina Pipper
Angelina Pipper (Belarusian: Ангеліна Піпер, lac. Anhielina Pipier; Russian: Ангелина Пиппер) (born 14 May 2000 in Brest) is a Belarusian singer who mainly performs in pop, electropop and folk music.

Must have been an early One , she Grew up NIce
000.jpg

Clouds pass gloomily on the border,
The austere land is gripped by silence.
By the high banks of the Amur
The motherland's sentries stand.

There a substantial guard is positioned for the enemy.
There stands brave and strong
At the border of far eastern land
The armoured attack battalion

There they live — and this song stands as testimony —
Inviolable, like a well-knit family,
Three tank crewmen, three cheerful friends,
The crew of a war machine.

On the grass lay heavy dew,
Widespread fog descended.
On that night an enemy troop decided
To cross the border at the river.

But intelligence reported accurately:
With arms readied
Over far eastern homeland went
The armoured attack battalion

The tanks raced along, the wind getting up
Formidable armour was advancing
And the enemy troop flew to the ground1
Under the pressure of steel and fire.

And they finished off — this song stands as testimony —
All the enemy in a fiery attack.
Three tank crewmen, three cheerful friends,
The crew of a war machine!

Jeff, my hat is off to you
truly the 'net is something amazing (will it out live us ?)

the singer in the video sure does not seem 18, perhaps earlier
edit: yea for sure, quite nice

and the question: does the US have pop music celebrating a crew of tankers ? or some such ?
- now I have seen lately lots of ads for the US military with some sporting events (thru betting sites, no TV)

It's propaganda. The happy tankers, ready to invade Europe, and kill the enemy.

is that what the lyrics meant to you Kray ?

where is the Amur River ?

I understand that Americans are geography challenged, but jeez.

Yeah, I checked where the Amur river is. I didn't even notice the reference in my first read. So the three happy tankers are ready to invade China. It's still propaganda. Is the Amur river a household topic in Costa Rica, Bill? Excuse my ignorance.

Lot's of propaganda songs glorifying war, on all sides, in all wars.

Hi Kray, I posted the video with a question which I repeat "does the US have this too ?".
I do agree that our world is immersed in propaganda (from wiki):

Propaganda is information that is not objective and is used primarily to influence an audience and further an agenda, often by presenting facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis or perception, or using loaded language to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to the information that is presented. Propaganda is often associated with material prepared by governments, but activist groups, companies and the media can also produce propaganda.

I am never offended by the lyrics to a song in a language I do not understand, Jeff was kind enough to provide a translation.
Children singing and dancing with an APC is obviously something more than a folk song, it is apparent.
Thanks to Jeff, it is clearly a modern song ment to stimulate/promote patriotism/nationalism. OK, so is that bad ?

Kray, you have used the word "invasion" in 2 posts; where does that come from ? (your projection ? - ment clinically)

So why is a Costa Rican at the Amur River ? 50 years ago I played RISK and Kamchatka is vital, the Amur River is merely the present border and truly in the absolute middle of nowhere, nothing so remote on this continent. A Russian poster, Geradot, digs there and has amazing pieces; we correspond and he was kind enough to send me several pieces (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/e...1-kamchatka-neolithic-tarinskaya-culture.html). So to answer your question; although I live in CR I am aware of the Amur River (a long tangled web), but doubt I will visit.

Kray, the US is hyperventilating over foreigners wanting to remain foreigners; try to ignore the propaganda.
Being older I can almost recall the US WWII songs, Perry Como was unbelievable. killing, killing, and more jap killing

edit: for those interested in the perception of propaganda
, a most interesting news site http://www.checkpointasia.net

One thing I Didn't mention, I think the Song is older then the kids singing it
Just their interpretation for the video (event).

At least I got to that feeling As there were 3 Videos that Popped up
with the English interpretation. One showed an Old soldier And was
a much more serious version. same tune but More serious/solemn

jerking the emotional heartstrings was my first thought, but well done (for such)
seems to be no shortage of flag waving songs in the US today, I guess the masses are being prepped - again

Bill, not sure if the US has young blond children singing about tank battles from the past. Maybe so. The Russians seem to have a different way of looking at things. They have been invaded a number of times, millions of lives lost. So, you post a patriotic Russian ballad, of tank battles in the Far East, ask if the US has such a thing, then when you get a response, you are clinically ( medically, mentally ) analyzing what I wrote.

We have the right to hyperventilate over foreigners crossing our borders illegally and sucking the teat of American taxpayers. What does Costa Rica do, exactly, besides accept US tax dollars in the form of "aid", and sent invaders our way?

uh, Costa Rica was the base for US ops against Nicaragua - does that count ?
I could go on, CR is a vassal state of the US; operatives come and go at will.
I am not sure any from CR go to the US for other than $, no US instigated repression here.

When I started the thread I knew only what I posted, Jeff was kind enough to inform us of the lyrics AND something of the context.
I presumed it to be propagandistic flag waving at the least,
and was curious as to the existence of US child singers glorifying war (equipment ?).
There do not seem to be.

Kray, do feel most free to hyperventilate to your heart's capacity; I was merely responding to the words written.
btw, the song was also against immigrants

I don't Know, I've never been much of a Flag Waver, Or Follower.
And always Hated What I considered War Mongering Propaganda,
From the Powers that be. So I would have Ignored Patriotic Songs.
Though I Thing Country singers Have some. Which I Hate Country Too.

I don't want to Get into Politics Here if I can Help it .
But I guess the best way to say it is,
it's only been since 2016 that I'm slowly Getting Supportive of the Constitution
as it was written & What the Flag stands For.
