My uncle said of those old Fords that if you drove at night, you had to get out with an oil lamp and go around front to see if your headlights were working. They were pretty weak. Hard to imagine but when my old man was born automobiles were virtually unknown to most. He walked, rode a wagon, horse or mule. Mostlyl you went on foot.
