Wanted to share this little story about a little boy that just turned 3yrs old on Wed.

We went up to the farm to celebrate the Birthday, and every year there is some type of contest/game, which seems to be a bit more challenging every year.
This year there was a picture/sound display of 20 owls-so one the sheet of paper you would put name/letter beside the # for the slide that was presented.
20 owls my score was 6 which won the adult division.
The 3yr old got 15 out of 20 :icon_scratch:
Talk about recall of this little boy, even when he hears a bird outside he can tell us what type of bird.
The other child at the party(1st cousin) is now 6yrs old recited a little poem to the little boy (from memory), then read a short story book to him.
Her father said she just started reading one day all by herself basically.:dontknow:

These 2 children have had zero TV/Internet exposure, except a zoom call with the Grandparents during the lockdown/stay home requirements.
I ponder if this has anything to do with the learning capability of these 2 young minds?

So many children are sat down in front of the electronic sitter(TV-internet) or placed in the pre-pre day schools to be raised by someone else basically instead of the parent.
No fault of the parents as they've fallen into the trap of debt-and have a need to provide that better life for the child.

Though is it better to have both working to provide when 50+% of the other's salary goes to the caretakers of the child?

It's great though to see young minds at work-just big sponges gathering life up, instead of a electronic device feeding on the minds of the young.

Thank you. He does, every time. He will be 90 in May. Lord willing, if he is still with us next winter, I am going to be a little more demanding about him moving in with us.
I’m happy to hear that your Dad appreciates you WD. My Mom will be 87 next month and she ferociously defends her independence for living on her own. Whenever I visit her, all she does is complain about our family not visiting her in Toronto and she refuses to move to a retirement residence. My sister even offered to buy a house in the city, have her move in and would arrange for an RN to take care of her, but Mom refuses to give up her freedom.

Morning Dave
How goes the battles of suburbia?

Thanks for asking Jim. :laughing7:

I had to take our daughter for a Covid test last night. She came home from school with a sore throat, so I took pics of her throat with my phone and emailed them to her doctor. Her doctor immediately identified this as symptomatic of Covid and ordered a test for her, which we had within 2hrs of the email being sent. I’ve been instructed to give her salt gargles and monitor her condition. Apparently, it’ll take 3 – 5 days to see the results online… personally, I think it’s probably strep-throat. :icon_scratch: Her doctor also suggested that my wife and I should both wear masks in the house until we get the results of the swab.

I had a brief interview with one of the Product Managers from Generac last night, they’ve started the search again for a Market Development Specialist for Canada.
I originally interviewed for this position in October, but the position was taken down in November.

That doesn't sound good Dave, it would be really hard to do isolation while in isolation.
Every surface that your daughter has touched could carry the virus-I hope it's just a case of a kissing virus that young adults sometimes get.
I seriously believe in Oil of Oregano

I can't see how wearing a mask now while we've all been living under the same roof together ever since Covid started will keep us safe, that logic just doesn't make sense.
Personally, I think her doctor is just following protocol with the mask suggestion. :icon_scratch:

She walked home from school on Tuesday when the temps were -20c and complained of a sore throat the next day and she usually gets a case of Strep-throat every year.
I'll just keep checking the Covid Ontario website for her test results, what else can I do.

Thanks for your suggestion of Oil of Oregano... but the taste makes us all gag. :tongue3:

Gmorn all, my smart machine says 4 below now and 40 above before the day is over. It sounds warm.
I have Spanish silver on the brain. Can you share the value of the extra coin Bart? Roughly? If not send me a msg plz. Not that I’m in any position to buy, just curious. I’ve sold a few of the top end of my arrowhead collection. I got 25grand for a Folsom and have sold a few Cody complex pieces for 10g each. I was able to upgrade some things in my life. A walker brand lawn machine with every option, 52 inch deck, lights kit, upgraded seat, high dump. Made in Ft. Collins Colorado.
I had a hard time even showing anyone outside my immediate crew my collection for years but look at me now, telling everyone.
I mow around 50 yards weekly with my machine. Its another way I make my living. I just love the idea of you upgrading yourself with a sawmill. I know from personal experience that it’s great fun to do hard work when your having the time of your life.
Have a great weekend..
