Brings back memories. I went on more than a few of those in my 26 year career as a Firefighter. You always hated this for homeowners or business', but we always strived to save as much as we possibly could.

Yeah, they are standing around playing with their hoses and not getting any water on the fire.

I don't know where the Fire Started.
What is odd to me if It started in the Garage,
Why not Hop in the Car, start it, or put it out of gear & coast it back ?
it appears to be an easy down hill coast ?
if it started under the hood, same thing, though I don't think it would have caught the garage
that quick. the car would have been worse by the time it spread to the garage.

odd it appears he thought "let it Burn"

It would have been too hot to get in the car.

As for Time, The Fire Companies go to The fire, hook their Hose to the Hydrant & the Pumper
and their other Hose to the Out Source From the Pumper, Before they can start.

Up here on top of the Mountain,

It's the Only Place I'm aware of around Here.

My understanding if there is a fire up here, who ever lives Closest to one
is Designated to Grab it & head to the Hydrant & Have it Hooked up by the Time the Pumper arrives to save time :tongue3:

maybe but I'm thinking I'd have moved it first thing before or right after the 911 call
on fire or not just to create space

Looks like they were working on the car. Maybe put the battery on charge or did some welding (or thousands of other possibilities), fire catches behind his back and is too far gone to stop himself...

My first instinct would be to get everybody out of the house and call 911. I know it’s a simple task to move the car but that also takes time that he didn’t have much of. The car would have been my last priority also.

By the time he would have had a chance to move it the engine bay would probably have been melted and a write off anyway.
