Bdoo,

You are a guy with a lot of class! Thank you for this great thread. It truly shows your generous character.

I will wrap some clad that I have around and donate whatever I have to a Salvation Army can...probably around $20 (found during my 1st year detecting).
I hope you have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year! :)

Happy Holidays,
Kirk :)

Kirk,
No need to explain why you have clad. ;D ;D ;D The first step in your recovery is admitting it. ;) ;D

LOL, Doug, during my 1st year, we hit areas that produced old coins, but the clad was there, too. Back then, I just threw it in a can. I only found about $20. :D

BDD...Kirk

P.S. DFX-Gregg, that is very generous. :)

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $601.56

GREAT idea, Scooby! :-*

Just last week I was detecting at a park in Cullman, wasting time waiting on Charlie to get off work. We were going to go shopping together that afternoon. We met at the store and walked up together and the Salvation Army guy was there ringing the bell. Those who know me, know that I rarely carry cash around and it was no different that day either. :P :D BUT!!! I had just been detecting and I asked the man if it was OK to toss my finds into the kettle. :) "SURE!" he said, with a big smile. ;D So I emptied my pocket full of change into the kettle. ;) I don't have a clue how much it was. I'll just have to guess...maybe $3? :P I'll go through this cup on my desk of found change and toss it in the tumbler and clean this batch up a bit. :D I'll get back to ya on that total. :)

This has got to be one of the best threads ever.

I took my medium jar to the bank today. No service charges for me. That sucker was heavy. It was over $55.00. I rounded it off and dropped $60.00 in the kettle.

Anything I can do to help.

Great idea.
I've donated toys and food at our work drop boxes already, but I'm headed to Wal-Mart now.
I will drop another $15 into the bucket. I've given $5 already, so that makes $20 to the Salvation Army.
Merry Christmas,
MM

Happy to see you got involved MM, thanks for helping.
Best of happy holidays wishes to you and yours.

I am looking forward to the weekend and hope many more while out will be able to give a little.
I am hoping we can blow by $1000 and then $2000, heading toward $3000.

Peace and love!

I cashed in my main clad load about a month ago...but have since accumulated another $26.50. About 20 minutes ago I dropped it all in the Salvation Army bucket at the department store...so add $26.50 to the total. :D

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $842.09

$10 donation for toys for tots, $20 phone card for the troops, and $50 in toys I snuck into a guys car, since his family is having a rough time right now and I heard him say his kids weren't getting much this year.

The way my kids have been acting they will be lucky if I don't take the ipod, electric gutair, bike and rest of the goodies they are getting and donate them. I can't believe they have gotten so materialistic, my girl 13, actually expects to get a $300 pair of boots for christmas....if you add up all the shoes I have ever bought her I bet it would not add up to $300. Its time these kids realize how lucky they are and to help others. They will soon find themselves after the holidays donating some time to nursing homes, animal shelters and a few other places.

I applaud eveyone here at TN for having such big hearts and I know those hearts are big all year round not just this time of the year.

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $948.59

My clad does not amount to a hill of beans. But, I just hauled a truck load of things, (dishes, pots, pans, clothing, toys, books) to the local St Vincent De Paul's, donated $10.00 to Santa Bear Christmas Crusade for Children and another $20.00 to the local Christmas Memory Tree in memory of my Mom, my In-laws and my niece. Plus another $10.00 to MADD.

Re: TNet 2007 Holiday Clad Donations - running total donated - $988.59

Put me down for 50 dollars that I have already donated
.
My good wife and I also made up two stockings for two children that we will not meet. The stockings are part of an annual thing we have done with a group of other people for the past two years. We put some neat little toys, school supplies (yuk) I know but it does help kids who don't usually get them, and some small candy items in the stockings. The stockings are of a pretty good size and hold lots of stuff. Hopefully it will make for some little guy or gal a happier Christmas.

Hello Diggers !! Not quite sure how much clad I dug this year but I;m putting 100 dollars in the bucket towards a fund for getting a well dug in a third world country. Our church is hoping we raise enough to get more than 1 dug. God Bless and hh...Panz

I copy pasted this over from my link in Today's Finds...

Thanks Panzermeyer!! You are very generous and this donation will certainly help a lot of folks who need it now.
