Will the US end with a wimper or a bang?

Hello.

I always thought the United States would end in some great battle that would detroy it. But as I look around and see all that is happening I think I was wrong all along. I think the United States will simply cease to exist. The country that I love will just no longer be there.

Does anyone else have any opinions on this?

Doesn't take much to look at how things are today and see that it is happening as we speak....

I think if America sees a threat it will respond and then if it ends it will be with a bang.....if things happen slowly and allow folks to be focused on themselves and their own world well then..... Doesn't look so promising, does it?

Well, if you are talking all the natural disasters that have been happening in the ... less say last 6 months..... yea, Mother Nature is going through some growing pains.

However, if you are talking about this country going away as per ENGLISH SPEAKING....and the rights of those born in this country....I see the US falling apart in both respects.

The natural disasters, just in the last two days, N. California with earthquakes...Indiana with earthquakes....up the road from me tornados (which is rare) and now tornados yesterday. The flooding....just too much happening in the MOTHER EARTH area alone! Now, Missouri and Illinois area getting slammed with bad storms. I wonder if Mother Nature is going through....you know...."blooming into a woman!!" LOL.

And for illegals...well, I see our country falling ... to the illegals and we will no longer be the US of A!

And the CRIMINALS having rights for attacking VICTIMS and SUEING the VICTIMS (or their families) for injuries while the CRIMINAL was attacking the VICTIM!!! Get Real.....you attack me....I'll make darn sure you are going with me and I will escort you the the GATES OF HELL on my way to the PEARLY GATES!!!

Just too many things happening lately.....I only PRAY we can turn ourselves around and bring this country back!!!!

Well let's see, not to get toooooooo depressing:

We have gas prices at an all time high and soaring. Food prices keep going up...

People are pushing to raise the minimum wage, socialized medicine is being called for. The global warming croud are using the issue to soak all of us. Illegals are running more and more areas of the country, politicians running for office do NOT support the Constitution of the United States. Criminals have more rights than citizens. Elected officials can do whatever they want without fear of retribution.

The Democratic Nominees for President and the Republican Nominee are so close on most policies that there isn't a definite way to tell the difference.......

Maybe it's because this election garbage has been dragging on so long. Maybe it's because the liberal media outlets focus on all the bad and depressing stuff. Maybe it's because the conservative radio guys are beating the doom and gloom drum.

Who knows it just seems like the United States of America is about to have a "code blue" to steal a medical term and I don't know if anyone around knows the right things to do to pull us back from the brink.

We the CITIZENS are the backbone of this country WHEN the chips are down. The government may fail to do their job they where elected to do, but when things get hard (and they are\will) the true AMERICANS are up to the fight.

And before someone goes all patriotic on my a$$, I ain't sayin there's anything better out there. But every form of Government invented by mankind has failed over time and there's no reason to think this one won't, it only took 300 years to discover the downfall of this system. Once again many people will look at me as a conspiracy nut but I've seen the inside of the Org. that runs the world and it set the whole world up for this downfall which will allow them to take control. The first actual one world Government to ever rule over the entirety of the world through Money rather than force.

Hate to say that I agree with you MDD but I think you are correct. I think that the people at the top have been manipulating the system long enough that they have now got the majority of the money and control so they can do whatever they want and there is nothing we can do about it.

Pepper I wish I could agree with you but there are very few "AMERICANS" like you describe left. What we have now are people that think the US is the worst place on the planet, that we stick our nose where it doesn't belong. According to these people:

1. We need to take from the wealthy and give to the poor, redistribute wealth
2. We need to provide top of the line health care for anyone that asks us for it even if they won't lift a finger to do anything for themselves.
3. We need to keep paying these idiots who have kid after kid after kid so they can get more $$ from the taxpayers.
4. We need to not fight back when someone attacks us, just take the punches and applogize for making the offending party mad.
5. We need to give up our right to keep and bear arms
6. We need to give up our right to free speech unless it happens to agree with what they are saying or believe
7. We need to let anyone come into this country without following the rules established to do it legally
8. We need to print everything in a different language and learn to speak a different language because they are too lazy, or too stupid to learn English
9. We need to make sure that everyone makes the same amount of money. Oh has anyone stopped to think that when these idiot politicians keep saying "let's tax the rich" that the people telling us this ARE the rich?
10. We need to provide health care and education and financial support to everyone in this country legally or not
11. We need to bail out people who cannot control their spending and get themselves in trouble all the while excusing the people at the top who ROBBED society blind!!!

Sorry Pepper but the Country that I grew up in has become sick and depraved. Hate to go biblical here but Sodom and Gammora had nothing on the United States and the way it is going today. This country is sick and I'm afraid it's gonna need life support soon and even that may not be enough.

Again maybe it's the rain causing me to think so negatively today but the United States is in trouble!

The good news is, that even with the economy getting bad for us, a lot of the illegals are leaving the country because they can't find work (and stepped up local enforcement of deporting them is starting to get effective too.) If this keeps up for a few years, we'll have the illegal imm. problem reduced to a manageable level.

The bad news is, we're still going to get run into the ground by the turkeys we elect (especially this time around.) The ONLY solution I see is to limit politicians to one term in office (and nobody gets 'grandfathered' in if they're currently in office. Get outta here, ya bums!)

I am all for term limits!!

I think everyone elected should only get 2 terms. No more lifetime appointments for Judges either. If they don't do a good job after a certain time you just vote them out and put new people in.

Of course the consititution would have to be ammended to do this.

How many billions do we owe China and other countries now for war and support for our own citizens?

The U.S. of A. has already sold its rights to manufacturing to other countries. We couldn't build a doghouse on our own if we tried. Got a screw? Hammer? Shingle? Cement? Bowl? Hose to fill it with?

The rest of the world is laughing at us and saliva is dripping from many countries, just waiting to pounce.

How many citizens have lost their jobs, their retirement savings, their health benefits, just in the past 10 years? How is Social Security looking for you guys 10 years down the road?

If you see something safe in this country that you can depend on, voice it. Your job? Retirement? Social Security? Military to protect our borders? Government electees? President? VP? Congressmen/women? Reps? Cost of food remaining sane? Gasoline prices going down so you can afford to go to work? Let's hear it!

I'm not saying I'm giving up. I never said that! I never said that we should all do that. You just assumed that and you know what happens when you assume.

I just want to know what will have to happen to make people wake up and realize that they are being messed over.

We have developed a country attitude where the have nots have figured out they can vote themselves benefits and perks through the ballot box. We have politicians that pander to the lowest common denomonator because they are not intelligent enough to think things through and the politicians know it. They have scared the older folks, they have convinced the minorities that the Politicians are the only ones that care about them. What we need is another Regan or someone with simialr love of country that he had. He wasn't perfect but he did care about this country!!!

Protest? People march on Washington every week. Do you honestly think the politicians pay any attention to that?

Carry guns? I believe that’s federally controlled. I do and plan on protecting my property as long as I can, but my little firepowers are no match for military actions.

Vote? How can you really tell who you’re voting for? They lie at the drop of a hat. No matter who is elected into high positions, Congress controls the shots. They’re really on the ball, aren’t they? Been a new Congress in power now for … what? Two years? Doing great! Where’s the Farm Bill that was due months ago They can’t make a decision on a bet. The US of A will DIE waiting for them to make decisions that have GREAT bearing on the economy of this country. They are a ball of ego, each one of them. NONE of them care about the good or the economy or the future of this country, only their own pocketbooks and retirements, which are SUBSTANTIAL!!!

If any citizens had balls and knew how to throw them around, we’d end the perks and bennies and retirements of EVERYONE on Capitol Hill. If I knew how and could muster the support, I’d do that before I’d vote for the next president!!!!!!!

The only way that is going to happen is if it's organized. People are fuming because they can't do anything. But they aren't networking and communicating with each other. That's what the Founding Fathers did to get the Revolution going (Committees of Correspondence, I believe.)
But, lo and behold, we have nearly instant communication these days. Shenanigans by the current power corrupt can be publicized for all to see. Even the most apethetic will eventually be sickened by what's going on.
A leader? S/he will only come to the fore when a strong support structure is in place (which will also be needed to root out the inevitable rats that will try to hijack and destroy the movement from within. Case in point, look how Obama has been exposed.)
