Good Reading

For those who missed it in school, there is a pretty good explanation of the Great Depression of the 1930's and how it developed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Depression

The information presented there does not match exactly what I was taught in school, nor what I had previously researched (speculators have always been major contributors to the economic spirals which precede depressions), but it is still a pretty good explanation to get one started if they have no prior understanding of what is going on today.

please be careful to back-up what you read on Wiki with another source...

Since anyone can edit it, it's can be wrong.

I am NOT saying this is the case here...
