22 shells are haunting me after 45 years !!

when i was a happy young lad me and my friends use to go out and ride motorcycles and shoot jack rabbits at the WW 2 air base i have been hunting recently. I remember we use to shoot box after box of 22 shells and never gave it another thought. I started hunting this site on 11-2006 and i still go but finds are far in between. Finally I'm digging every target so i can to come up with something and all I'm finding now is 1 or 2 wheat's and 22 shells. Every time i dig one up i think of the old days when the future was far off and only that day mattered. Times have changed and the city has surrounded a once proud air base but all the 22 shells i dig up reminds me of the good old days. P.S. i havent seen a Jack rabbit out there in years.
