this Saturday was the day to give the samurai sword to my judo instructors son but something has gone wrong. Many of the Japanese elders my brother has been talking to told him don't do it because of a deep rooted believe in Japanese customs. They believe that because my instructor gave the sword to my father and not his son it would open old wounds that no one wants to happen. The Japanese are proud people and the not worthy feelings over the sword is not worth it. Saturday night the son will get family photos instead and some letters written by his father. This taught me to be a little more carefull and think before jumping into things....AA
