Bought a used Excal II

Amazing price, but not sure if it’s working correctly. Obviously no warranty, anybody here have experience sending in a detector for a “checkout”?

Mine had a light leakage into the controls pod - sent it to Kellyco for repair.

Disc mode doesn’t seem consistent and the “click” from one mode to the other is very difficult to feel. Bought it from my cousin who says he only used it one weekend and decided this hobby isn’t for him.

If knobs are hard to turn the o-rings need to be changed.

I bought a used Excal 1000 for $500.00. Turns out the Sensitivity is bad and I cant use it in auto senstivity. also I think someone crossed the wires on pinpoint and discriminate mode so in pinpoint is hunts as If I am in discriminate and if I change to discriminate it changes to pinpoint. All in all, I can make it work. I sent my machine into PA facility and they changed my O-rings. All good!

You have to call here first for a RMA number then it goes to PA, turn around is less then 10 days...
