Some of the best steaks here in Austin are, Outback has good ones,CoolRiver cafe,TGIFridays,and theTx.Land and Cattle Co. are my favorites.

Morton's in Richmond VA. Great big bone-in ribeye, iron skillet full of shredded hash browns. Bring plenty of money, though.

by far the best steak in the country is "Wyoming rib and chop house" Sheridan Wyoming! 1" ribeye, with (or without) a dollop
of crab on top. so so very good! they also have one in Cody Wy. if ever there be sure and stop by!

Don't ever eat the blooming onion at outback or you will pay! They are ok but I enjoy the finer steak houses like Harris in SF, Flemmings, Ruth Chris and Mortons. Bone in Rib Eye of course!

I'll go with Ruth Chris and Morton's in NYC.

Lol best steaks I ever had was a bar and grill I worked at called obryans pub. Big filets and great strip steaks. And porterhouses to die for. We bought wet aged meat and believe it or not it makes a huge difference on getting those juices seared in. Use to cook them on a chargrill now they steam then on a flat top 
lol after I quit and left it went to crap. I was the last of the plank owners of the joint and they hired a culinary school chump that thought he knew what pub food was. Oh we'll what can you do.

Oh forgot if you buy a steak in the store take it coarse salt and coarse pepper it and stick in in the fridge for a few hours. It'll get a great crust on it and make it easier to keep it juicy and pink on the inside.

Its almost always better when someone else cooks but i like to merinade mine in crown royal or a good irish whiskey and season them then throw em on a charcoal grill.
Ribeye is my favorite for its balance of flavor and texture.
I also kinda like the weird steaks like the chuck tender or the bistro filet. Flat iron's are kind of a turn off because of the tough membrane in the middle of it.

Outback steaks are "needled", they are punched with a multiple needle machine to make them more tender and injected with artificial flavor enhancers, UGH!!
If any of you ever get to lower NY state, try "The 76 House" for a great prime steak cut and dry aged by the owner on premises. The 76 House was built in 1684 and is one of the oldest continuous use taverns in the country. There is a George Washinton headquarters house a quarter mile away, and George, Alexander Hamilton, Mad Anthony Wayne, Nathaniel Greene, Benjamin Talmedge, and other revolutionary leaders ate and drank there. It was also used to imprison the British spy Major John Andre after his capture with the plans to West Point he got from the turncoat Benedict Arnold. Andre was held in the tavern and tried in the still standing and used church across the street and hanged on a hill about 3-400 yards from the tavern. Not only can you get a superb meal there, you will be eating and/or drinking in the same space as many famous revolutionary leaders and can visit the historical sites nearby. The 76 House is in Tappan, N.Y, an early (1600s) Dutch settled community and the site of Baylor's Massacre is a mile or so away in Old Tappan, NJ. Don't bother to try to detect Tappan though, a couple friends and I hunted Washington's Headquarters, the church yard, and the great lawn in front of the manse house with permission back in the early 1970s, and I hunted the headquarters site again two years ago and the only old coin found was by a friend and it was a toasted fatty indian.

But my fave? The White Stag, on Hwy 17, west of Eagle River WI. Sooooo good!!! My buddies in HS and I would drive the 350 miles from the Chicago burbs JUST to get a meal there! 😱 Whats for dinner...ROAD TRIP!
