I found this last year close to the Arkansas River.

I always thought it was a mini ball after I scraped
it until I could just make out the rings on one side.
It’s also the same weight as a 58 cal mini ball.

But, it finally occurred to me that this has a different
purpose.

Can you guess what it is?

It’s a fishing line weight.

Someone flattened out a mini ball and folded it over
the fishing line.

I’ll bet three Arkie Barkies I’m right.

Happy Hunting,

Hey Tabdog, What's an Arkie Barkie?

I'm new here on TreasureNet Forum and this reply to your post
is my first post. I live in Northeast Arkansas and I have a Pioneer 101
which I've had for several years now and not used too much. I got it
out a few weeks ago, dusted it off and started md'ing again. So far I
haven't ventured out from my yard much because it's been so damp
and cold. I must say that digging up junk like aluminum cans, tabs and
junk iron can be pretty discouraging. But since I've started reading posts
on here from you and others, I get a burning desire to go dig up more
junk in hopes of finding treasure. I only wish my burning desire was
enough to raise the temperature outside so that I can get out.

Thanks for the encouragements and your humorous manner.
