Token: Good For One Drink Or Cigar
Here's a token I found this spring, which was originally posted on the now defunct Kinzli forum, but never made it to the T-Net CA forum. [T-Net mods, thanks for hosting a great site.] The owner of this saloon was Newell Terrill, who died in the 1890s. I had the opportunity to visit the place where he is buried and with the help of a historical society, I was able to contact his grandson, also named Newell Terrill, who lives only 45-minutes drive from the location of the original San Simeon saloon. The grandson has invited me up to talk with him about Grandpa and even obtain a photo of Grandpa. I probably won't make it up there for a few months, but I'll be sure to post a photo of Grandpa Newell. This is a pretty rare token and even though I was offered a decent amount of cash for it, it will be part of a historical display near San Simeon, at the Piedras Blancas lighthouse. Be sure to look for it if you ever visit there.
