That old cabin on the way from Bishop to Mammoth just as you go up the mountain on the left (heading north) always intrigued me on my way up to June to fish.
Maybe look on google earth for some old places up the the hills on the other side of the 395?

Welcome from Salinas, CA.

When the snow melts at Mammoth ski area, check the ski lift lines. I hear that ski lift lines are good places to find rings. Since people pull off their gloves while standing in those lines. And that provides the tugging motion that pulls @ rings.

Also: The rules for hunting in CA are quite simple: I get 30% of all your finds. Now get busy and find some good stuff ! :)

While waiting for a member to reply - if you haven't already - take a look at Sub-Forums: California for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.
