Got a last minute permission to access an old plantation camp so I picked up the keys from my brother Mike, picked up my digging partner and into the hills we went. Found some nice machined Waialua Sodas, Spring Sodas but the find of the day was the cobalt blue T. Machida by 808Kaz. Most of the dig finds I have as movie clips. I'll post other stills of the ones I found later after cleaning.
Big Mahalo to Mike and 808beginnerdigger for making my vacation time worth while...I was stoked when I got the call that we had permission to go up into the hills, nice clear day, packed our lunch and up the hill we went... We hiked around the ravines around the old Waialua camp, it can get over whelming with all the bottles just scattered every where, just scanning the surface I found a common machine Waialua soda, just pulled out of the ground...
After Hiking around all morning finding mostly surface stuffs we ate lunch...I still wanted to dig somewhere so I decided to go back to an area that had a run off and broken glass, I dug down on the side of a hill and hit a nice layer went down around 3-4 feet, had a lot of rust and a lot of whole bottles ...I hoping to find some milks or tuff machine sodas from Waialua "Plimar" or Spring Soda Works...no milks, did come across some tuff machines sodas but all of them broken, was running out time and we had to go... I was telling 808beginnerdigger if we have the chance to go again we should go straight to that area and start digging I know there is a lot more to be found in that area...
Probably my best bottle I dug, common but still nice cobalt blue hair dye...aloha Kaz
I was hoping that one would fall out of your pocket in my car ... Thanks Kaz for Chinese "Bean Pot". I cleaned it up and will photograph it and the other finds including the Chemistry bottles I found.
Here are the good ones I found (except the Bean Jar from Kaz... Mahalos). The Waialua SW turned out to be real nice and also the chemist type looking bottles. Kaz also dug up the little brass compact. Like Kaz said, bottles in the open all over the place. Funny we found all the junk kind not broke and all the good kind - BROKE! I also found a broken Waialua SW Waialua "Plemar" ... But anywayz, we had a fun day. Sorry folks I am limited to whom I can bring there. Fortunately we was able to talk story with the caretaker after our dig who lives on the ranch. He also gave me some common bottles he found...
Wow your bottles came out real clean ...the amber pipe look like "dakine" pipe with "dakine" resin inside, lol...I wonder what the patient calcium inhalator is used for

Kaz... Here's my best find at Takayama last year at the spot I showed you, the K. Akahoshi I found by accident while digging the Spring SW. A very common one but I was pretty stoked about that one. That was the last time I was able to go in there before our recent trip - almost a year ago. Burn Bearing early walking the ravines and crossing over two gulches and back. I know where to go now...
