first milk for 2013

Got a tip on a spot just 5 minutes from home, checked it out and probed around a bit. 15 minutes in and I find my first milk for 2013, a 1/2 pint H C & S co. Plenty milk tops and abm sodas (Hinode Sodas and Star Ice) scattered around. Also found my first Hinode Soda(all embossed) last week, will post later.

Great find! Screening helps to find the little stuff like H C & S Co. bango tags or old marbles.

Went back for couple more hours and found a few marbles and a blue/white label Star Soda with the label intact, common but its still a bottle. Never found bangos yet but did find these tags on previous digs.

Went back, found a Howdy and a akahoshi. The Akahoshi looks to be #850 (without 'Made in Japan') but in a 1" x 2 1/4" size, not listed in the book. I have found several different variations of the Akahoshi bottle and a few of them didn't match the book in size. The #851 with screw top that I found measures 1" X 2 1/4" compared to 1 X 2 and 1- 1/4" x 2-3/4" noted in the book. The #852 I have measures at 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" compared to 1" X 2-1/4" listed in the book. Are these common?
