South Bend Fishing Token and a Steel Wheatie

What a beautiful day yesterday. Low 80's with a decent wind to keep one comfortable. Found my first steel wheatie in a pocket spill of 3 other wheaties. Came across the South Bend Bait and Tackle Good Luck token. That one really had my heart pounding as I at first seen the huge coin and was thinking a Morgan or Peace Dollar. Token is just smaller than an Eisenhower Dollar Coin.

We've hit this area before, but having trouble finding the silver. There's over mowed 100 acres to work, but we have to find the center of the old activity.

Hope everyone had a good day of hunting

South Bend Bait Company "Fish and feel fit" token. 1 3/8 inches. Given out by South Bend representatives at tackle shows, and through other promotions from the 1930s-1950s.

    Sounds like a fruitful hunt!

I was out Saturday and will post my finds soon. In the meantime let's just say it's been tokenpalooza for this gal.

Oh and a couple pieces of gold goodies.

Hey!! You and hubby need to borrow the token sometime, I'l rent it to you. Probably cheaper than a charter

well, maybe we'll use it to christen the new boat yep, we figured it was either perform an exorcism on the old boat or buy a new one...so opted to buy one, oh that happened the same wekend we hunted! I return from the hunt and SURPRISE, a new boat, or new to us. It's all good!

    I'll upload the finds tonight.

And by the way...nice goin' on the steel penny!

Thanks on the penny. Probably won't be able to do anything with it, but put it in a coin holder at best.
I revisited the park the week after and was finally able to scare up a '29 Merc. and a Wheatie. Had to dodge the Goose droppings and the kids there were plentiful. Avoided that area so I wouldn't have 'em trailing behind me.
