DJH, thats a Chamber Pot. To use when needing to go to the bathroom in the middle of winter. This one has a crack in it, but other than that it is in one piece. I have some more stuff to post too. It was another successful dig. Got about 12 milk jars and some others. Thanks for the reply. jgas

Couldn't tell if it was a brass spittoon or if it was a ceramic/pottery piece. Never could imagine squatting over something in the house, but one had to do what one had to do back then.

Can't wait to see the other digs you have to post yet.
