Cleaning the parks with the New Dirt Weapon
Well,
Got the Whites V3i last week and was finally able to take it out on its maiden voyage to a couple of the local parks. I dug so much trash that I thought I was going nuts. My bottle cap count was out if this world, until I started ignoring that VDI number. Problem with that is, quarters hit at or near the same. Still some learning going on, so a Tesoro could probably leave me in the dust right out of the gate
I did dig some clad, which was mostly pennies, a dime, and 1 quarter. I can honestly say that I have not dug this many pennies in a long time and the learning curve is gonna take some time. Not used to the sounds that the Whites makes, as I was so used to the Minelabs tones, but with perseverance, I will overcome that obstacle.
I did dig a '56 Wheatie at an honest 7 1/2" and was totally impressed with that one.
xGregx totally blew me away with his find, but I wll not tell what it is, as I think he is going to post that one sometime. I can tell you this though, After he recovered the target, we set my Lesche trowel in the hole and the end of the grip was dead even with the top.
Hope everyone has been diggin the dirt now that the rain has come and softened it up a bit for us.

Dropped the big bucks huh DJH? Did ya get the wireless headphones too? You will master the whites machine soon. Do you guys hit any yards around town or in SB land? Or is it mostly parks that you are in to? I have been digging privies like crazy this season and have not busted out the detectors as of late. I am getting the itch to get back out and detect again though.
On a side note, I got a 1934 Buffalo nickle in change at Meijers today....strange. Later, jgas

Sold the E-Trac and accessories to fund the Whites. Didn't lose much on the sale, so thought I might make the change.
Didn't go with the Headphones. Thought I would put the money towards an extra coil & lower rod and keep using the Killer B's that I have. Getting the wireless headphones is 1 more thing that needs batteries and if they go dead while hunting you're kind'a stuck. Private yards haven't been happenin' here much, but we have been hitting the local park hard. Since greg isn't posting is deep find that he got with the V3i I'll tell what it was. 1897 Barber Quarter at an honest 10", so I'm impressed to say the least. Just gotta get to know the machine and find what works
Yeah, I seen you've been diggin' those privies and the finds are awesome to say the least. Guess that's why they call them honey holes
Keep safe digggin' those deep pits Jgas and be safe on the streets.

Re: Cleaning the parks with the New Dirt Weapon
Thanks DJH, yea I am getting the urge to get back out and hit some yards around town with the DFX. I have been digging these bottles so much lately it nuts. I really should be pounding the same yards with the detectors too. There are so many vacant yards, homes in the city you could keep busy for months. I really like hitting older farmsteads if those old farmers would let me. I dug two pits today and found a few keepers. I will post them soon. Take care and be safe out there. jgas
