I went to this Farm in early spring but the owner was not around. I tried again a couple weeks ago and finally caught the owner. He gave me the go ahead. He told me he would be around for a couple more weeks then he was headed to his winter place out west. This land has some early 19th century history and I haven't found a coin from that century yet. I made my way down there for a 40 degree Friday. This was probably going be my last chance for this season. He showed me part of the field where a house use to be that he tore down in the 70's. This field had beans in it and the other field I wanted to be in had corn. So I opted the beans. I spent a good six or seven hours in it. Just a few steps from the car I hit a 195- wheaty. Nice start. Finding the normal things, trash a lil slaw. Then I get another 80 - 81 signal 2 inches down. I dig it and see it's a IHC. I'm thinking that they were in the 1800's and slowly wipe the dirt away saying pleaseeeee. Needless to say, somethings don't come easy. I did find another wheaty, my oldest, 1910. There is also a 1931 Indiana chauffeur's license, a small pendent with a P on it. Some lead seals, a button and a shotgun head stamp from the eary 1900's. The one thing I need some help with is the copper handle from a small cup. It has some thickness to it and I can't seem to find nothing close to it on google. If anyone would like to throw in their thoughts I sure would appreciate it. Thanks for looking and GL & HH withing old man winter knocking.
