    Re: 1917 Indiana chaufeur badge............

Neat badge, all right! Total number of registrations for that year was 5,063. In the most recent edition (1994) of Connors' Price Guide to American & Canadian Chauffeur badges, it was valued at $65. Bound to be worth more today. Indiana issued chauffeur's badges from 1913 to 1947, after which only paper licenses were required. The most valuable badge is the one for 1918, which can be worth over $300.

    Re: 1917 Indiana chaufeur badge............

As you'd expect, since it dates a couple of decades later, this one's a bit more common but still a nice find. That year, there were 210,284 registrations. Connors valued the badge at $18 in 1994.
