Okay guys (and gals) Califormia has the Kinzli forum, we need to start posting our stuff where we can all see what each other is finding here at home. I will start it out with this:

I hit an 1880’s house on Sunday. This token was found dead center in the front yard. I haven’t found or seen one like it so I did some research on the token. The front reads “Graham and Morton Lines” The back reads “The Grand Excursion Line, St Joe 50 cents, Grand Rapids $1.35” and features a steam ship in the center. Found in Pittsburg KS on 082807. Other weekend finds include an 1893 Half and misc wheats.

Here is my oldest coin I dug about 40 miles west of wichita. It's a 1879 and was my first IH. Came from my brother inlaws yard. His house was one of the first here in town and was built in the early 1880's. Eric

Construction site finds from last week. Three UGLY barbers. The 1893 S would be worth some money if it werent so darned ugly! Also found a few early 1900's IH's and a few aluminum tokens with these, they were also in pretty bad shape.

Found today at an old farm near Chanute Kansas. This is straight from the land of relik hunter! This is a good one and just about as old as you will find them in Kansas! I cant make out the last number on the date though it is 1865 or 1863. This is my second shield coin this summer as I found a 2 center a few months ago. I have included a photo of both and a photo of a seated quarter found by a hunting buddy of mine from Texas. This coin was found in the field north of the old fort in Fort Scott Kansas. You guys from the area know which one I am talking about! Good stuff from the land of Oz this summer! Maybe we should get together and had a SE Kansas hunt in a month or so. Lemme know what you all think.

He's in Humboldt. If you ever have a chance you should hook up with him. Super good guy who's fun to hunt with. We went to the Otterville hunt last year. Had a blast. Eric

Some weekend stuff. Anybody from Parsons want to show me the "old" parts of the park? Found these in the center near the train barn/shed. They were all over 8 inches deep.

Oh the memories I have in the late 70's at Pittsburg. Got to search the campus on weekends and found lots of rings and silver coins. Boy was I spoiled for awhile. It sure would be fun to hunt at Ft. Scott or any where in that area again. Good luck to all.

I've noticed some posts from people near Ft Scott and Pittsburg,Ks.Don't forget about Galena!Half the town is crumbling. The earth is giving way below the old town because in the late 1890's,the area was mined heavily for lead and they tunneled in every direction below the town and did not map anything. Now the buildings are falling thru.I hope the old jail collapsed. What a dump.Spent a night there in the late 50's(story for another time).

Burdie, So your the guy that got all the silver coins from PSU?! I have hunted the campus a few times and only dug about 20 silver coins! I took the explorer with the 12.5 coil the other day and was digging clad quarter at about 8 inches from the front of Russ Hall. I thought "it would be nice if someone had left something for me" >:(. They replaced the turf on the football stadium a few years ago and I found a ton of silver in the turf they tore up. They piled it in a huge pile east of the campus and would take a few feet off at a time to build the vets memorial. So, there is probably a bunch of silver coins buried in the berm around the vets memorial. I havent got the courage (being a vet myself) to hunt the memorial (yet! ;)). Also, I got an idea for a future hunt, 1860ish town site, now a field. Maybe next year you can do the hunt in Crawford County.

Warsaw, how ironic, the two-center in the above photo came from Galena.

I really need to get over there and help you. I am worried you might hurt your back finding all those good finds. :D :D I just would feel awfull if that happened because I was not over there. Well it is getting deep so I'll just say Happy Hunting.
